OMS Foundation Annual Fund
A gift to the Annual Fund supports the mission and programs of the Foundation including:
Jointly funded by AAOMS, the OMS Foundation is funding a Clinical Research Support Grant specific to anesthesia and patient safety with $150,000 for a two-year study.
The OMS Foundation support AAOMS' Faculty Educator Development Award (FEDA) to encourage young oral and maxillofacial surgeons to choose a long term faculty career in the specialty.
Research Support Grants further the development of scientific investigators committed to problems related to oral and maxillofacial surgery. Each grant is $75,000 and is awarded to the institution.
Funds are designated each year to support the biennial Clinical and Scientific Innovations in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (CSIOMS) and the Clinical Trials Methods Course as well as the annual Resident Transitions into Practice Conference.
Clinical Research Support Grants encourage promising lines of patient-oriented and outcomes-oriented research consistent with the research priorities established by the specialty. In 2020, the Foundation intends to fund two $150,000 Clinical Research Support Grants with one grant dedicated to addressing the safety of current or proposed anesthesia delivery techniques.
To defray the costs of traveling to AAOMS education programs, the Foundation provides a limited amount of travel scholarships to the AAOMS education programs: Clinical and Scientific Innovations in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (CSIOMS), Principles of Head and Neck Oncology Conference and Clinical Trials Methods Course.
The OMS Foundation annually funds one $12,500 Student Research Training Award to attract qualified dental students to commit to the OMS specialty.
