Guidelines

Eligibility of Applicants

Applicants must be full-time faculty members who have dedicated at least ten years to academia through an oral and maxillofacial surgery training program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
The applicant must be a fellow or member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS).
The applicant must be a donor of the OMS Foundation.
The applicant must be a citizen or non-citizen national of the United States or its possessions and territories and have been lawfully admitted to the United States or Canada for permanent residence.
Recipients of this grant will be expected to demonstrate how their chosen program will contribute to their professional trajectory and strengthen their impact in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Conditions of the Award

The maximum disbursement of the award will be $75,000.
The award will be offered for a period of three (3) years, with annual disbursements of $25,000.
The period of the award will begin July 1.
The recipient must commit to remaining in a full-time faculty position for the three-year award period.
The award will be disbursed directly to the recipient to support their career advancement.
The award may be used to support a degree or certificate program or attendance at a national or international meeting.

Review Procedures

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee appointed by the OMS Foundation.
The committee will evaluate each application based on academic and professional achievements and commitment to career advancement and leadership.
The OMS Foundation Board of Directors will, at its sole discretion, select the Endowed Fellow awardee from recommendations provided by the selection committee.
