SCORE AAOMS has launched a new Surgical Council on Resident Education (SCORE) for OMS, a learning management system for residency programs. The OMS Foundation is offering financial assistance (50% of the $500 enrollment fee) to OMS programs who apply by June 1, 2022, for enrollment in SCORE beginning July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2023.

  • The SCORE portal is available at Surgicalcore.org.
  • SCORE is designed to improve the education of surgical trainees through a standardized, peer-reviewed curriculum. For residency programs, the AAOMS Committee on Education and Training and the OMS Faculty Section have developed OMS-specific content – including about 90 OMS modules, 210 peer-reviewed self-assessment questions and access to Dr. Raymond three-volume Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery textbook.

Eligibility of Applicants

  • Applications for financial assistance must be received by the Foundation (via email) by June 1, 2022.
  • Applicants must be the program director of an accredited OMS program.

Conditions of the Scholarship

  • One Hundred (100) stipends will be granted for a one-time subscription assistance.
  • The maximum disbursement for each award will be $250.
  • The stipend will be provided to the OMS program director on June 8, 2022, through a coupon code that can be redeemed through the online SCORE subscription application.

Guidelines

  1. Provide financial assistance to OMS programs for a one-year subscription to SCORE beginning July 1, 2022-June 30, 2023.
  2. Provide opportunities for OMS programs to utilize SCORE which is designed to improve the education of OMS residents through a standardized, peer-reviewed curriculum.
