The OMS Foundation has allocated $150,000 and is requesting applications for a two-year Clinical Research Support Grant focused on the safety of outpatient sedation/anesthesia during officebased oral and maxillofacial surgery.

The Foundation supports research endeavors across the entire scope of OMS including basic, translational, and clinical research. This RFA seeks to attract outstanding investigators to conduct patient-based clinical research. Consideration will be given to proposals addressing the safety of current or proposed anesthesia delivery techniques. Examples include:

  • validation of monitoring advances and techniques
  • prospective/retrospective outcomesbased research, including creation and/or analysis of large datasets for predictors of optimization and safety.

Projects may be led by collaborate investigative teams or individual scientists. Applicants should submit grants via the normal mechanism noting specific consideration for the RFA. The award will be disbursed in two annual payments of $75,000 each, with a Sept. 15, 2020 target date for the first disbursement.
