Frederick Stephens, D.D.S., F.A.C.D. has been in private practice as an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon for over 30 years. After completing his undergraduate and dental training at The University of Washington, he completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesia Residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital, University of Texas Health Science Center, in Dallas, Texas.
Currently, Dr. Stephens is the Director of The Pacific Coast Center for Oral and Facial in Pasadena, California. During his time in private practice, he has provided a full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, including Dental Implant Reconstruction and Bone Regeneration, Orthognathic and Facial Reconstructive Surgery, Maxillofacial Trauma Surgery, Oro-facial Pathology, & the Surgical & Non-surgical treatment of both Obstructive Sleep Disorders and Temporomandibular Joint Disorders.
Dr. Stephens is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) and currently serves on the Examination Committee for ABOMS. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) and numerous other professional organizations. Dr. Stephens is a Past-President of the San Gabriel Valley Dental Society and the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (CALAOMS). He served as a commissioner and has chaired the Commission on Professional Conduct (CPC) for the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS). He currently is a long-term Delegate to the AAOMS House of Delegates, representing California and District VI.
Dr. Stephens is the District VI Chairman for the OMS Foundation and is the 2015 recipient of The Gerald E. Hansen Ambassador Service Award. He also, is currently a Member of the Board for the Oral & Maxillofacial Political Action Committee (OMSPAC).
Over his professional career, Dr. Stephens has lectured nationally on various topics with-in the specialty including Dental Implant Reconstruction, Bone Regeneration, and Laser Surgery for the treatment of snoring and facial skin resurfacing. He also moderated a pre-conference series on the topic of anesthesia for the AAOMS national meeting.
