Annual Meeting a resounding success for the Foundation

Behind their face masks, attendees of the 2021 AAOMS Annual Meeting were clearly excited to gather with their colleagues in Nashville, Tenn., and that enthusiasm translated into an outpouring of support for the OMS Foundation.

Dr. Richard and Mary Panek’s commitment to a legacy gift of $850,000 – delivered on the meeting’s first day – was a harbinger of good things to come. By week’s end, the Foundation also received legacy gifts from Dr. Howard and Irene Fisher and Dr. Herb and Mary Stith, $165,000 in cash gifts – including two major gift settlement payments – 18 new OMSFIRE (OMS for Innovation, Research and Education) gifts and dozens of contributions from donors from as far away as Austria.

The Foundation welcomed these new OMSFIRE donors at the meeting:

Platinum ($100,000 over five years):

  • Beacon Oral Specialists

Gold ($50,000 over five years)

  • Dr. Mark Zajkowski

Silver ($25,000 over five years)

  • Pacific Dental Services

Bronze ($12,500 over five years)

  • Dr. Richard Burton
  • Dr. Jasjit Dillon
  • Dr. Jonathan Gray

  • Dr. Eric Olendorf
  • Dr. Thomas Padgett
  • Dr. Mohammed Qaisi
  • Dr. Gregory Sarka
  • Dr. Julie Ann Smith
  • Dr. Stanley Smith
  • Dr. Michael Stronczek
  • Dr. Daniel Whitney
  • Dr. Cynthia Winne

Dr. Colin and Susan Bell paid tribute to their friend and retiring Foundation Chair William C. Passolt, CPA, with a gift of $55,000, the balance on their $100,000 commitment made in 2019. Similarly, Dr. Dan and Adaline Klemmedson completed their 2020 OMSFIRE Gold commitment with a $30,000 gift during the Annual Meeting.

The Foundation appreciates every gift, especially yours, and thanks everyone who stopped by the Exhibit Hall Booth or donated electronically during the 2021 Annual Meeting.
