Opportunities for OMS Residents
Global Initiative for Volunteerism and Education (GIVE)
Travel stipends of up to $2,500 for residents serving with approved OMS teams to deliver humanitarian healthcare to communities in need. Funded with support from OMS Foundation Alliance, Canfield Inc., OMSNIC and generous individual donors.
- Must have minimum 24 months OMS residency training.
- Applications are accepted year-round for Residents and Volunteer Surgical Programs.
Resident Travel Scholarships
Reimbursement of up to $1,000 in documented travel expenses for qualified OMS residents attending education programs hosted by AAOMS, including:
- Resident Transitions into Practice Conference
- Clinical and Scientific Innovations for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (CSIOMS)
- Clinical Trials Methods Course
- Principles of Head and Neck Oncology for the OMS
Norma L. Kelly Resident Spouse Scholarship
Reimbursement of up to $1,000 in documented travel expenses for spouses of residents to attend the AAOMS Annual Meeting. Funded with support from the OMS Foundation Alliance and OMSNIC.
- Must be spouse of junior or senior resident attending the AAOMS Annual Meeting.
- A summary of your experience must be submitted to the Foundation within 30 days of your return.
- Detailed travel expense receipts must be submitted within 30 days of your return.
Dr. David Stanton Award
JOMS Section Editors will select the best resident article in JOMS each year. Awardee will receive complimentary registration for AAOMS Annual Meeting and a $500 cash prize.
- Qualifying papers must be submitted by end of June in final year of residency.
- A primary research mentor may nominate/attest to the resident's contributions.
